Venue: California Room, Faculty Center, UCLA
The theme of this summit is to bring together virtual computing researchers in UC campuses and their collaborators to share ideas
about on-demand computing in a dynamically altering compute environment. We invite project presentations in the areas of
Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Software as a Service (SaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), MapReduce, Storage cloud, Data aware scheduling etc.
The following topics are of interest to us:
- Experience and thoughts on building a private cloud including hardware, deployment packages, hypervisors, stability, ease of deployment, risks, automation of services, application performance, and cost benefit analysis.
- Deploying applications in public clouds, performance and cost benefit analysis.
- Storage management through virtualization.
- State of the security model in current cloud deployments.
- Data distributed computing as in Hadoop MapReduce including scheduler scripts to dynamically provision the resources in a cluster environment.
- Web services to deploy cloud services
If you are actively involved in any of the above or related topics, we would like you to attend this summit and share your experience.
