As part of the installation, the installer that comes with the UGP configures Apache Tomcat and Grid-ftp for you. In doing so, it establishes the following ports:

For the Grid Appliance:

 • An Appliance must be able to publish to the Grid Portal on port 8443.
 • An Appliance must open all its ports to the Grid Portal machine, especially
   2811 for grid-ftp and those ports in the globus-port-range: 8443 and above
   for Globus Toolkit. Consult the Globus Toolkit documentation for further
   information.

For the Grid Portal:

 • The public must be able to access ports: 9443, 8081, 80 and 443.
 • The Grid Appliances must able to connect to the Grid Portal on port 8443.
