This list is a combination of things we know we want to do and things discussed at the two meetings yesterday.

Things we know we want to do:

Provide graphical interfaces for input and output 

try out some of the ways other people are doing vis on Grids as learned at Vis 2006.

Multiple Grids 

Make the UC/Campus Grids able to interact with any outside grid. This includes giving users their certificates, having certificates that are lower level on the org chart, not being so exclusive, etc. Rich from UCSB will send us email with his thoughts about the tool sets necessary

Interfaces to and scheduling of on-demand resources 

large vis resources like power walls, hydra, etc; tools such as scanning tunneling microscopes, telescopes, and other equipment that can be computer controlled, etc.

Work with very large files that are too large to be ftp'd 

Explore ideas such as:

1. not moving the files around but working them in place,
2. tools such as ogsadai which partition files and only move parts of them
3. scheduling ftp's behind the scene and letting the user know when the ftp has completed

Collaboration including

1. online database telling about the research of those using the grid, facilities and programs available so that researchers can find people to collaborate with
2. online CVS or

equivalent source code collaborative versioning system for use by researchers using the grid

1. some way that someone can get to and use another researchers data or executable through the Grid Portal.

Possibly drive hyperwalls from the hydra 

See Scott's email about this. This can be expanded to a statement like this: "make use of visualtion clusters like the hydra that can participate in a Grid to drive large visual displays in the field."
