Here is how we have decided to deal with developers from outside of our group

  • an outside developer must "Join" our group.
  • They must enter into architecture discussions with us
  • We will provide each outside developer with an architecture and internals doc and a standards doc.
  • We will give them a side branch of the CVS to use for checking in their code.
  • We will review their code before officially merging it into our code.
